Aethir Unveils $100 Million Fund to Fuel AI and Gaming Innovation
Aethir, a leading player in decentralized GPU cloud computing, has announced an ambitious initiative to invest $100 million in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gaming companies through its newly established Aethir Ecosystem Fund. This financial commitment aims to accelerate innovation and drive growth in sectors increasingly reliant on advanced computational resources.
At the heart of this initiative is the Aethir Catalyst, a dedicated grant program within the Ecosystem Fund that will distribute $20 million to support over 100 innovative projects in the gaming and AI spaces. This move is backed by the Aethir Foundation and is designed to provide critical support for startups and enterprises that may face challenges in accessing high-performance GPU resources.
Aethir, headquartered in Singapore, is actively harnessing under-utilized graphics processing units (GPUs) across various industries for cloud-based computing. With strong ties to the Web3 ecosystem, the company collaborates with numerous blockchain projects, as well as gaming and AI developers, to meet their substantial computing demands.
The Aethir Catalyst program includes the distribution of 336 million ATH tokens over the coming year, split equally between AI and gaming projects. Companies applying for grants will be evaluated based on their innovation, growth potential, and community impact, ensuring that the most deserving initiatives gain access to these vital resources.
This innovative fund not only addresses the need for affordable computing power but also serves as a strategic initiative to stimulate the next wave of growth in the tech sector. As AI and gaming applications become more compute-intensive, Aethir is stepping up as a key infrastructure provider, empowering developers to turn their groundbreaking ideas into reality.
In addition to grants, the Aethir Ecosystem Fund encompasses a subsidy program that can reduce off-platform service costs by up to 35%. This dual approach of providing both grants and subsidies is tailored to alleviate financial pressures on developers, from burgeoning startups to established enterprises, enabling them to scale their projects effectively without sacrificing quality.
The Ecosystem Fund also anticipates a major expansion of Aethir’s infrastructure through its Edge network. This enhancement will support more complex AI workloads and improve scalability for enterprise-level social media platforms. To facilitate this growth, the Aethir Foundation plans to allocate up to 100 ATH per device daily for Edge devices, thereby boosting computing availability across the network from November 2024 through mid-2025.
Mark Rydon, Chief Strategy Officer at Aethir, emphasized the program’s impact: “Aethir Catalyst represents a significant commitment to democratizing access to GPU compute for AI and gaming innovators. By allocating $20 million from our $100 million ecosystem fund, we are ensuring that promising companies have the necessary resources to thrive, effectively reducing the barriers to accessing compute power.”
This initiative is poised to create significant ripple effects throughout the tech landscape, empowering developers to explore new technological frontiers in both AI and gaming. As Aethir continues to support a diverse range of companies, it aims to cultivate innovation that leads to more immersive digital experiences and sophisticated AI solutions.
For those interested, Aethir encourages startups, developers, and enterprises to apply for both the Catalyst grants and subsidies, which are designed to empower them to scale operations and bring their pioneering projects to fruition.
